Visiting Hermosa Beach, California

On Saturday mornings classes in beach volleyball technique are offered on the beach in Hermosa Beach

Dave was amazed to see this fellow standing up on his surfboard and rowing with a long paddle. Dennis said it was "paddle surfing" and was quite the rage out there.

An overcast February day with temperatures below 60 degrees F did not discourage these kids from wading in the surf.

Friday Night Gettogether

There was a gettogether at Pat & Lee's house the evening of Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 as the Moran family gathered in Los Angeles for Rachel's Sunday wedding.

Dave Lippman in Rock Island

Herbert Degner and Hugh Barrett

Dave, with his brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Pat, took his father to visit his first cousin, Herbert Degner, in Freeport, IL on 27 Dec, 2008. Herb and Hugh were born 4 months apart in 1923 and saw each often as children. They have only visited each other 3 or 4 times in the last 60 years. Hugh enjoyed the visit and drive up and back immensely.
